My Horse #1111-8

The Navajo were famous for breeding a smaller, faster horse. A man's horse was very important to him, and the number of his horses was a mark of prestige. The Navajo believed that there was magic contained in a spoken wish. This song encompasses all the qualities that they desire in their horses. The words of this song created by one of their medicine men are characteristic of a common type of good luck song wishing for beautiful horses. Decorating the piece are replicas of actual tipi paintings.

Presented on ivory parchment, double matted in ivory on burnt sienna; framed 8"x 10" in a natural light oak--lighter than photo--with a dust jacket on the back.
