Apache Wedding Blessing

#1101 Size 11" x 14", #8363, 8"x10" Double Matted/Framed

This beautiful piece is attributed to the Apache nation; the trim at top and bottom is from Zuni pottery. The first Native Americans communicated with picture symbols, often carved into or painted on rocks, also known as petroglyphs.  I designed the picture symbols down the center to complement the meaning of each blessing.  Although this piece does not use the word "love", it certainly describes its meaning.
This was the first of my original calligraphy designs, based on the arrowhead, for my Native American series.   Indigo Raven
